First off, we get to see Emilie Ullerup on Smallville, playing Cat Grant in Friday’s episode. This will be her first TV appearance since her demise on Syfy’s Sanctuary.
2nd, we’ve got big things coming our way Friday… with the much anticipated … well wait,
3rd, I’ve got a first look pic at Julian Sands portraying Jor-El later this season. I’d usually stick a 2nd pic in after the break, but for those who are avoiding any kind of spoilers, I thought I’d stuff it in here:

Before I go any further, I need to say this season has been going like gang busters with all kinds of characters gracing the “pages” of Smallville. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say they were parading as many DC characters as possible across the screen before the end of the series. That’s what I would do if I thought the end was near. But keep in mind, episodes are written and filmed long before ratings are recognized… and you can’t blame them for taking this approach… if that was what they were doing.
But is it really the last season Smallville? Hang on. More on that later.
After the break, there may be what’s considered light Smallville spoilers so if you don’t like having the surprise taken from your experience, or you’re a time-shifted viewer (DVR junkie!) then you may want to hold off on the rest of this article after the break.
You’ve been warned!
Here’s a preview press release from The CW for Friday’s’ episode of Smallville, titled “Crossfire”:
Oliver (Justin Hartley) tries to help a young street girl, Mia AKA Speedy (guest starring the hot Elise Gatien), get out of her dangerous life by offering to train her, but Mia double crosses him. Lois (Erica Durance) asks Clark (Tom Welling) to help her land a job as an on-air television host, but the two are shocked when the station wants to hire them as a team. Allison Mack, Cassidy Freeman and Callum Blue also star. Mike Rohl directed the episode written by Holly Henderson and Mike Whitehead (#3X5257).

Here’s the rest of the buzz that’s floating around out there Smallville:
Chloe has trust issues this year, but there will be a few surprises coming up. We’ve already seen where she’s intervening with our heroes, if anything, in Oliver’s case, to get him back on course.
Executive producer Kelly Souders said that if you pay attention, you might notice a bit of a “fire” she has for someone. Someone whose charming and hard to ignore. (I’m thinking Oliver, now that he’s back on course. Any takers on that?)
In 2010, when the Justice Society episodes titled “Society” air, we’ll be seeing Martian Manhunter (Phil Morris) again! YES!
He’ll be a cast amongst many like Hawkman, Doctor Fate and Stargirl in upcoming episodes. Hmm.. I guess I didn’t write about that yet. Cripes! I’ll get ya that info soon!
Thank the phenomenal Geoff Johns for penning this super cool pair of episodes. I am so looking forward to them.
As far as Clark’s powers, we’ll be seeing a new power pretty soon that cool, but the powers thing is an ongoing sort of tease.
As far as flying, Souders does say that’s his final step to becoming Superman. The journey, so to speak. To me, that means we’re going to be continually teased until we finally get near the end of this or next (if there is) season.
As far as Lois and Clark, catch the episode called “Idol.” Souders says it’s fun. Things are getting to look interesting.
Souders teased that Zod and the Kandorians are not what we might think they are and we’ll find out a ton of information in the 7th episode titled “Kandor.”
Clark will come face to face with dad, Jor-El in the “Kandor” episode. That airs Nov 6th.
On the optimistic front of things, the production staff are actually looking to write a season finale, NOT a series finale. Much like last years season 8 of Smallville. Though there was a drop off moving to Friday nights, it wasn’t as bad as they thought it would be.
Keep telling your friends folks! Get the word out there! This can be done!!!
Let’s get a 10th season of Smallville on the books people!
PS:
Did you hear that bad news about Sam Jones III, who played Pete Ross in the early seasons? He was arrested by the DEA and is charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 10,000 oxycodone pills! Apparently Jones was known as a Hollywood connection, if that can be believed. That’s so sad. I’m bummed. If convicted, he’s looking at 20 years.
