In the 8 episodes of Stargate Universe that have aired already, the ratings outdid the 2008-09 season of Stargate Atlantis. (Have you noticed they keep comparing SGU to SGA’s last season?)
In the 8 episodes with full Live + 7 DVR viewing data Stargate Universe’s first year has
- averaged 2.64 million total viewers,
- 1.66 million Adults 25-54,
- 1.47 million Adults 18-49 and
- 617,000 Adults 18-34,
- along with a 1.9 HH rating.
Syfy compares these numbers to the 2008-09 Stargate Atlantis 5th season and the numbers show increases in these various categories:
- 55% increase in Adults 18-34,
- 36% in Adults 18-49,
- 31% in Adults 25-54 and
- 26% in total viewers.
I’m not sure if they’re saying na’na’na to the viewers who aren’t happy with this new somber rendition of Stargate or if they’re trying to convince you it’s OK to watch. I am not the expert here but that’s my emotional reaction to Syfy constantly comparing the two ratings statistics.
But remember, Nielsen reports these numbers, not the network!
