As it was like with Danica Patrick’s decision to join NASCAR, we were left in the dark until the last second. It would seem, so too, are we left in the dark about her plans to run the Daytona 500.
With no decision made yet, she will be at least competing in the ARCA Daytona race. It’s after that race that she’ll be leaning towards whether she’s ready to tackle the Nationwide Daytona event.
In the meantime, I caught a snippet of a press session she was holding the other day where she asked the media to back off and let her do her thing.
LOL.
That’s not how it’s done in NASCAR missy! This sport is known for the public access to the drivers and you’ll just have to adapt ‘love.
Besides, if you heard Juan Pablo Montoya on his SIRIUS Radio chat this morning on The Morning Drive, that first year of competition, he expected it to suck. Serious folks, that’s what he said when asked about his 3-year plan! He was a hoot during the interview, just calling it as it was.
So Danica, be prepared.
Footnote: Despite my picking on the foibles of her budding NASCAR career, I actually expect her to do OK in the ARCA race and I really would like to see her tackle the big old Daytona tri-oval!
And if my COMMENTS SECTION was working, you could chime in on this too! Grr.
