Summer Glau (Dollhouse, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Firefly) has landed a new role on the NBC pilot titled The Cape. The Cape is about a cop who is set up and ends up looking like a criminal. To clear his name, he becomes a masked hero.

The Cape is directed by Simon West, written by Tom Wheeler, and stars David Lyons (ER as Dr. Simon Brenner; Sea Patrol) as Vince Faraday, the set up cop.
Summer Glau will be playing an investigative reporter by the name of Orwell, who goes after corrupt cops. And yes, it’s reported that she’s kicking butt in this show.
Now for that famous pragmatic point of view from Cinema Static: So far, almost everything I’ve seen Summer in, she pretty much carries the same facade I’ve seen in all her previous shows, with just a wee bit of variance. I really hope she can break out of that quiet, monotone mode we’ve all come to enjoy and show us some variety to her performance!
With that said, her next-up role you can see her in is Deadly Honeymoon, on the Lifetime Movie Network.
Deadly Honeymoon airs on 4/25/10 and or 4/26/10. (Their website is confusing me as to which, or both days it airs.)
“Deadly Honeymoon, follows two young Denver newlyweds, Lindsey (Summer Glau) and Trevor Forrest (Chris Carmack), as they embark on their honeymoon cruise from their picture-perfect wedding in Hawaii. What begins as a dream vacation devolves into a night of wild partying, infidelity and strange encounters with a group of passengers. The next morning the passengers awake to find Trevor missing, presumed to have fallen overboard to his death. But as the investigation proceeds, an FBI Investigator (Zoe McLellan) begins to question if Trevor’s death really was just an accident.”
