TV News: With the 2011-12 new TV season underway, you knew there would be casualties and fatalities amongst the new shows. Heck, in this day and era, even returning shows are on the block if they’re performing poorly enough.
With that in mind, I thought I’d snag my alphabetical list of new shows from my 2011-12 TV show premiere date article, pull it over here and start updating the status of the new shows as I see the TV news. (And frankly, the first few cancellations do not surprise me one bit!)
Sources are many and in the status column I’m indicating either a
- ??: Ratings news was looking iffy;
- <Date>: (the date the show was reported axed/cancelled.);
- FS!: The new show was reported to have been ordered up for a full season.
This article can use your help! I’m pretty busy during the day and I may not always see all the news. 10/14 update: Charlies Angels was beat by The CW’s Vampire Diaries in ratings one night! Ouch, it’s cancelled!
10/18: CBS pulled How to Be a Gentleman, after being moved to Saturdays.

I’m really hoping they will give Charlie’s Angels a chance. The first ep was, I admit, pretty bad. The acting wasn’t good at all, and the writing was even worse. Some lines were just totally out of context or just sounded weird.
From episode two I think both the acting and the writing improved. Honestly, it began to feel a bit more like the Charlie’s Angels I was hoping to see. It’s never good when you compare it too much to the original series, which I personally was a big fan of, but I think things are starting to come together in the 2011 version.
So, having said that, I do hope we at least get one full season.
Hi hear ya Wolfke79! But the ratings aren’t looking very strong for the show. They took a 20% dive and I believe, was the lowest rated show in its demographic brackets!
How can they cancel Charlies Angels, I havent even got to see it yet..

Hey Paul… I want to check out PERSON OF INTEREST, but it’s not showing on COMCAST’s VoD service… it would seem to ONLY be on the ABC website… I’m bummed, but hey, someday I’ll be able to catch it and talk about it. LOL.
I saw the first ep of Person of Interest and I’ve kinda lost interest after that. I should probably give it another go to have a better look on it though. Haven’t seen Unforgetable yet, but I love Blue Bloods as well. I think it’s great show and I just love the cast.
I think Person of Interest is a watcher and I quite like the lead character although I do keep thinking they should call him whispering jack or something similar as he never speaks very loudly.
so, Comcast is cancelling Eureka!
what a disappointment for us.
I sent an e-mail to Comcast saying since I couldn’t do anything to save the program; I would simply stop watching NBC.

Andrew, I would be impressed if they even acknowledge your note. As far as I can tell, it was a bean counting decision in Comcast’s quest to add more to their $14 billion revenue. Plain and simple, black and white to the them. I could be wrong, but as a business entity, I’m guessing that’s how they approached the cancellation of EUREKA.
