This is a movie review of Limitless, after finally catching it on VoD. It’s rated PG-13 and has a runtime of 105 minutes

Limitless on DVD

Limitless is a visually acute experience, depending on what part of the movie you’re watching. But watch you must… as our lead character gets knee deep in troubles from being too smart, and not too bright, all at once.

Limitless stars Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, & Abbie Cornish and is directed by Neil Burger, whose past directorial projects include The Lucky Ones and The Illusionist.

Limitless is a movie about Eddie Morra (Cooper) who runs into an old associate who gives Morra a drug that wires his brain so that he becomes super smart and can pretty much do anything. Anything that he’s been exposed to whether it’s via reading or watching, he can recall or act on. It’s pretty appealing, not only to Morra, but I’m guessing to the movie-goer.

But as Morra rides this drug high, he creates interesting situations that he seems to have created without thinking it through. It’s like the drug makes him super smart, but he seems to miss the common sense boat when he approached his situations.

And hence, the journey of Eddie Morra is a riveting experience for the movie-goer as we watch Morra go through his ups and downs through the movie.

It’s a riveting movie experience, to say the least.

The visual distinctions used to ear-mark the different states of mind that Morra is in is rather unique and at first, distracting. But you get quite used to it. It’s the opening sequences of the movie that may confound you at first. But once you get past that, you should be good to go.

Limitless is a great popcorn movie ride and definitely worth the rental fee, if not picking up the DVD or Blu-ray. Especially if you’re a fan of Bradley Cooper’s blue eyes.
