Only if you live in a cave, would you not know that Fifty Shades of Grey is opening in theaters on February 13th, just in times for Valentines Day.
But in preparation of this light bondage pornish flick, AMC is anticipating a curious trend in association with the movie. Much like Rocky Horror Picture Show where fans show up in costume or props for the midnight screenings, the movie theater chain is anticipating the same kind of fervor in regards to Fifty Shades.
In do doing, they’ve put out some press saying that they don’t fans showing up with their own movie props, real of otherwise.
“While we welcome those guests who want to show their excitement for a film by dressing up in costume,” Noonan said, “we do not permit weapons (real or fake), or props/costumes that would make guests uncomfortable, or detract from the movie going experience.”
So where one person might think they have a toy, others might feel like that item could be a weapon. Or… highly embarrassed?
So if you are planning to hit up the theater in a get-up that might include extra “fun” goodies, or you anticipate that others might have issue with your taste in leather wear, you might want to reconsider so you don’t get turned away at the theater turnstile.
It would be kind of sad to watch someone dejectedly walking away from the theater, dragging their toys behind them.
