As the press release notes, the award winning drama, The Walking Dead, returns to cable TV in mid-October.
In the third season of The Walking Dead, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his group is now not only fighting the roaming undead but now will find themselves facing off with the living humans.
It will be a 16 episode season.
Entertainment Weekly called the “greatest thriller ever produced for television” and this thriller will have its season split into two parts. The first part of season three, eight episodes, will air, starting October 14. The second eight eps will herald the return of the dead in February 2013.
Of course, as has been the practice, after the premiere (and all episodes), the recap chat after-show, “Talking Dead,” hosted by Chris Hardwick, will be following.
The Walking Dead will also herald in the annual thriller movie marathon, called AMC Fearfest. Fearfest is a 19-day marathon of 70 movies that run from October 13th to October 31st, preparing you for Halloween!

The Walking Dead, season 3 premieres on Sunday October 14th.
