American Idol did what they always do with the final rounds of contestants, split them into 3 rooms and we watched as the judges messed with their heads. It’s standard fare to really mess with the contestants heads.
And on this night, rather than be shown the final 12 contestants, we’ve been strung along and theyv’e spread the selection reveals out across 2 nights.
So why did I suffer through 2 ours tonight then? Because this is one of Fox’s biggest money makers and they’re making a killing by doing this. Or they’re trying to figure out how to contend with the Olympics. But enough about business.
Below is the start of the list, and I will continue listing names here tomorrow:
Mike Lynche (26, Astoria, NY) made it, then crushed everyone of the judges as he handed out happy hugs.
Didi Benami (23, Knoxville, Tenn.) made it… Simon addressed her ups and downs, but he did say when she’s good, she’s fantastic.
Katelyn Epperly (19, West Des Moines, Iowa) Ellen is evil… she gives Katelyn this speech about all her auditions and all the no’s she gets and it’s wrong to keep her waiting.
Casey James (27, Fort Worth, Texas) made it through to the next round of top 24. Much to the happy mode of Kara.
Todrick Hall.. (24, Arlington, Texas) they didn’t even mess with him. Kara said “yes.” Todrick sat there and said… “That’s it?” Looking all surprised.
Aaron Kelly (16, Soneston, Penn.) made it and so did
Lee Dewyze (23, Mount Prospect, IL).

UPDATE: It’s Wednesday and the rest of the 24 finalists were chosen.
Janell Wheeler (24, Tampa, Fla.) – Ellen: paraphrased “It just doesn’t make sense to tell someone that they’re not going through… so we’re not going to tell you that.”
Tyler Grady (20, Nazareth, Penn.) – Kara’s form of torment isn’t quite the same as Ellen’s. It’s more subtle, she doesn’t have that sadistic, humorous edge. But she tries.

Lacey Brown (24, Amarillo, Texas), [Maybe try #2 will be the magic one! She had made it to Hollywood last year.]

I think you should have Katelyn Epperly instead of Shelby Dressel. Although everyone disagrees with the decision, she was cut.
