Andrew Lee Potts – Past, Present and Future Time Threads

This is a Cinema Static Personality Focus on Andrew Lee Potts. Andrew Lee Potts is someone who caught my attention in the science fiction UK TV series Primeval.

Primeval with Andew Lee Potts

I enjoyed his portrayal of the quirky Connor Temple and his frustrated woes of love. Primeval focused on scientists chasing odd time anomalies that pop up between past and present, dumping dinosaurs and the such in the middle of modern day England.

I then caught him in a 2nd television fantasy mini-series titled Alice, on the Syfy Channel. An adaptation / sequel to Alice in Wonderland. A most interesting take, if I do say so myself.

Andrew Lee Potts as the Hatter in ALICE on Syfy

Andrew surprised me with an apparent versatility by coming off with a different personality for his character of Hatter in Alice. Some actors just seem the same across any and all projects they work in, so it’s refreshing to this versatility.

Before either of these projects, he was in the popular UK comedy show titled Ideal, as Lee.

Prior to Ideal, Andrew has been 39 previous projects, all of them mostly 1-time appearances in such shows and films like Inspector George Gently, Taggart (2006), Fat Friends (2004), Foyle’s War (2002), Absolute Power (2003), Buried (2003), Band of Brothers (2001), Dalziel and Pascoe (1996), Hetty Wainthropp Investigates (1996) and his earliest project on record is 1989’s Children’s Ward.

Andrew Lee Potts

Born on October 29th, 1979 in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England – Andrew studied at Leeds Performing Arts School and got his acting start in musical theater.

His sister is Sarah-Jane Potts, and is reported to live with Hannah Spearritt. That is also his co-star from Primeval. Lucky dog!!!

He’s also been known to write, direct, produce or act in short films from the Indie production company called Keychain Productions. Andrew co-founded Keychain Productions in 2006.

The core members of Keychain Productions are Andrew-Lee Potts (Director), Alex Moss (Producer), Tony Denman (Writer) and David Mackie (Cinematographer).

He’s presently filming in the North of England a TV drama titled A Passionate Woman, which is expected to air on BBC1 sometime in 2010.

Below is one of Keychain Productions’ projects, titled Little Lilly-Colour Blind.

It is a very mellow paced project looks like an interesting take on one girl’s (Hannah Spearritt) routine and the change that gets injected into her usual duldrum, colorless daily routines.

This is a bit more volatile video with some language a bit darker theme titled Blood on Benefits.
