Who Is Leaving 'Grey's Anatomy?'

I had someone ask me if I knew anything about people from the cast of Grey’s Anatomy leaving or not at the season finale of the show. I wasn’t too sure so I took a peek around and found out that showrunner Shonda Rhimes calls events in the season finale a “thing.” Hmm.

First up, keep in mind that many of the cast are still in contract negotiations. And therein, lies the crutch of the various stories we’re seeing in this latter part of the season of Grey’s Anatomy.

Rhimes has created the story of the medical boards where different characters have offers from different hospitals. Then, if their contract negotiations don’t pan out, it’s easy enough to send them off show.

Or, in a different vain of perspective, what a wonderful idea for strong arming the cast into not being too aggressive in new and higher contract numbers. That is if you, as an actor, like your job on the show!

But we do know that Bailey (Chandra Wilson) will be having a beautiful moment in the finale.

There’s going to be dark moments from, who else, Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Cristina (Sandra Oh). Though Rhimes does say that this journey these two are on will continue.

But then Perez Hilton is hinting that he has sources are saying that both Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo might be considering exiting the show. Eh, we’ll see how it goes.

The place would be quite different if they both left, especially since the show is more or less named after Pompeo’s character.

It’s pretty distressing to watch what’s happening between Owen and Cristina… and though sad, it was a very satisfying moment to see Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) move beyond his wife’s ailment and hook up with Jackson Avery’s (Jesse Williams) mother, Catherine Avery (Debbie Allen). I love Allen’s character… though she’s only been in a handful of episodes, the power her character exudes is memorable. I like her! (Did you know: To date, Allen has appeared in 3 episodes, and directed 4 others!)
