The second teaser trailer came out on Monday, January 12th for Avengers: Age of Ultron. And to be honest, this one makes the first trailer look like a happy place. The tone of this latest Avengers trailer, if you can imagine it, has an offbeat melodic presence and pushes the idea of how serious or grim the situation is that our group of heroes has to face off against.
This latest trailer offers tiny little tidbits or the extenuation of the teaser nuggets that were dropped in the first one. My only worry, as the release date gets closer and closer is that Marvel / Disney don’t spoil too much about the film with a slew of other trailers.
Yet anticipation for this sequel to the billion dollar surprise first hit is on everyone’s radar and there’s a lot of expectation to fulfill for Joss Whedon. But the good thing, in my mind, is that Whedon always has a plan and usually his plans include a story beyond the first one he presents, and thus, the tone of the story continues in a natural fashion rather than how some other attempts at sequels tend to pan out. So I think the fan anticipation will be highly rewarded.
Below is the outline of the second Avengers film, the latest trailer and for your edification, the first one is included too.
The story behind the movie…
Tony Stark tries to ramp up a dormant android-like peacekeeper program to take a load off the group as a whole, things do not go as planned and the Avengers find themselves facing off with the villainous Ultron, trying to stop this evil machine from acting on his own plans. Those plans? Annihilate humanity. To face off against this evil, uneasy alliances are formed to face off against him or it.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is due out on May 1st, 2015.
