‘Battleship’ Latest Clip – Shredder Attack

Battleship, starring Taylor Kitsch, is due out in theaters May 18th, 2012. It’s one of a few boardgame based movies hitting theaters in coming months and years… For what that’s worth.

Other cast in the movie includes Liam Neeson, Brooklyn Decker, Alexander Skarsgård, Rihanna & Jesse Plemons.

The movie is about

“A fleet of ships is forced to do battle with an armada of unknown origins in order to discover and thwart their destructive goals.”

They’ve been getting grief about how it looks a bit too much like Transformers, and to be fair to the movie itself, I think anything that looks like a machine attacking things will be compared to Michael Bay’s hard work.

But on the other hand, Transformer fans might not mind hitting up this stop-gap between Bay-bot films! I mean that in the best way actually.

It’s directed & produced by Peter Berg, who has some fans for his previous work… like The Losers, Hancock, Lars and the Real Girl, Smokin’ Aces, Friday Night Lights (movie & TV series) and more.

Here’s the clip showing the shredders attacking an airfield:

Here’s the first movie trailer that came out, and seems a wee bit more comprehensive in coverage than recent clips and such:

(Hmm… sorry, you have to go to it, since the owner of the trailer has requested YouTube to disable embedding…  Must be some funky form of anti-marketing…  LOL)

But it’s worth it, if you’re interested.
