Battlestar Galactica Viper from Ronald D Moore

A Viper from Ronald D Moore's Battlestar Galactica (Ph by Steve Adams)

Syfy is working on a web based series called “Blood & Chrome” which is a spinoff from “Battlestar Galactica.”  “Blood & Chrome” will be following the adventures of a youngWilliam “Husker” Adama during the first Cylon war.

Michael Taylor is writing the script and the web series willconsist of up to 10 episodes that will be around 10 minutes each.

Doesn’t sound like much… in fact, it sounds like a single movie pilot!  The interesting trick to the show is that it will be moredigital and green screen, like “Sanctuary” but if you’re worried about sets, don’t. They made high-tech scans of the sets before they dismantled and auctioned them off.

On the bright side, being that the series is on the web, theywon’t need to be shying away from R-rated material.

Here’s the hanger for the webseries: If “Blood & Chrome” is successful, we’ll see more web-based series from Syfy. Ifit’s really successful, it could lead to a TV series.
