'Bigfoot' on Syfy TV reviewThe Saturday night original movie on Syfy, called Bigfoot, is a classic of Syfy classics. If they came out to make fun of themselves while having fun do it, they hit this one out of the park. They being cast and crew.

Bigfoot has a stellar cast of characters. We have Danny Bonaduce as the small-time concert promoter and Barry Williams as the tree-hugging Bigfoot saver. Or, the male version of Syfy’s Debbie Gibson vs. Tiffany.

The star-studded cast also includes Bruce Davison (X-Men, X2), Andre Royo (Red Tails, “Fringe”); Alice Cooper, Howard Hesseman (About Schmidt); & Sherilyn Fenn (“Gilmore Girls”).

Bigfoot is a hoot of a TV movie. He seems to hate peeople who litter and others who destroy the environment. Or at least that’s how it looks at first. To be honest, he’s more King Kong than Bigfoot, since Bigfoot only gets about 8 or 9 feet tall while this version is about 15 to 20 feet tall, swings at helicopters, runs down roads and through towns.

All the while, he eats people with their creamy center fillings, tears them in half a lot just to tear them in half, and he is also a soccer player who likes to kick the icky people off-screen!

And the people are the most confused I’ve ever seen. First, Bigfoot attacks and kills everyone in sight, then later we see the people protesting to save Bigfoot.

All throughout the movie it’s Bonaduce vs Williams.

Danny Bonaduce and Barry Williams in 'Bigfoot' - a TV review

Bonaduce is trying to take every chance to kill it and Williams keeps hoping if he tranqs it, no one will kill it. So he’s always saving it. Oh that, and Bonaduce keeps tossing out something about he and Williams’ mother.

But despite the awesomeness that is this giant Bigfoot, man and machine will always win. By the end of the movie ‘ol BF is looking pretty haggard, his hairstyle trashed and for but a moment, I thought he was going to have a friendly moment. But nah, this is King Kong rewrapped and that’s all I’m going to say.

The cast of characters are over the top and the effects are the classic benign CGI cars and aircraft.

They spent a lot of money on the CGI Bigfoot. No, I did not say it was incredible or great, but for the productions that come out on Saturday night, it wasn’t too bad.

There are a lot of needless deaths and body shreddings, which gives this hokey fun TV movie called Bigfoot, all the more fun to crank up.

Get the beer, your buddies and some bad popcorn or ice cream and have some fun with this one.
