The Bachelor

-

ABC has signed up Brad Womack for their newest season of The Bachelor.  Yes, the same Brad Womack that would not choose anyone in the season that he was the Bachelor.  Back in 2007 Womack dragged 2 women (DeAnna Pappas & Jenni Croft) through the enitre process of the show and blew them both off at the final rose ceremony.  Sure, it was an eye-opener, but really.  He decided to stay the single bar-owner…  I think people just wished he figured that out before coming on the show.

So why Womack?  Because ABC could not land a Bachelor for the series and apparently went begging to him.  With production starting in a few weeks, it was coming down to the wire.

For one, they could not persuade Chris Lambton from Allie’s season to return as The Bachelor.  He wanted out of the limelight and to get back to his own life.  Which confirms that he was a good guy through it all.  Most contestants get those shiny stars in their eyes and get themselves into the Hollywood realm.  Good for you Chris!

Here’s a quote from Chris, about being asked to be on the next season:

“Honestly, it’s something that I’ll have to think long and hard about because it was hard watching, you know, so much of my personal life and intimate details of like dating and love on TV.”

As it was, I remember reading a month back or so that they were having a hard time finding a bachelor.

I find that hard to believe but my guess is they need to find someone who can generate some form of media or attention to the show.  Or no one came up nuts enough in the psych profiles.  ABC has been known to help spruce the show up and such, so my guess is this is what they came up with.

Me, I find it very hard to even feel a shred of anticipation for the show with this guy in it.  I have a lot of choice adjectives for his behavior from his season and I just don’t care about him.  The only value the show might have if he is indeed chosen, is watching the desperation in the new contestants as they put up with just about anything to obtain anything they deem as their goal.
