Heard an interesting tale that got me to thinking.
Over on The Loop, a runner’s BB, one fellow went running through a park that was closed, got flagged by a Park Ranger and given a $100 ticket for being in the park while it’s closed.
Here’s my disconnect: This was one of the days of the week that the park was closed, as part of a money saving practice to not have staff on-site for whatever reason, though I’ve never seen them water the forest or what not.
Yet being closed, the state was paying a Park Ranger to patrol it? Seems odd in the face of the premise of the practice, unless of course, that is the practice. To aggressively pursue people on park lands and make up the monies lost on the Park Ranger.
I just found that odd. That’s all I’m saying.
