CA DMV Delayed In Delivering Driver Licenses [Consumer]

The state of California has enough problems, but now you can add drivers licenses to the list.

CA is having problems with some new-fangled system that is supposed to deliver high-tech formatted licenses but today they announced they will be sending out temp licenses that last 90 days instead of the usual 60 for those expecting new licenses.

Some folks have gone over 6 months waiting for their new picture ID license.

If you’ve been waiting and your temp license is getting ready to come up expired, you can e-mail the DMV at loddlidsp@dmv.ca.gov to obtain assistance with license renewal status or call 800-777-0133.

My name is Haojiang Zuo.
I have passed the after-wheel-test and got the temporary driver license for almost 3 months. During this period, I have contacted 800-777-0133, 916-657-7445 for several times asking for my driver license card.
But up to now, I have not received my driver license card yet.
Also, I have submitted my associated documents, which DMV required.
I am looking forwarding to your response. If you need more information or documents, Please let me know.

I am on the east coast, my birthday was coming so I renewed my license on line, I printed out my reciept along with my authorization number etc.
My new license has not come in the mail at home, it has suddenly occured to me that if a local officer asks to me see my license in one of these road blocks?
He/she are not going to believe me whaen I say that this has happened?
They will impound the vehicle, they may even book me, and for sure they will issue a summons.
If I need to rent a car, which is something that I need to do from time to time for business?
They are not going to accept an expired license.
In the age of 911? Do you think I will be able to board an aircraft home again?

my father went to the dmv to get a ident. card because he does not drive any longer. he is 93 years of age. this was done back in oct. of 2010 we/he has not recevied it as of now.monday 14 of 2011, march. thank you sign his son JOHN L. URREA

THIS PAST WEEKEND WE JUST HAD ONE OF THOSE FAMOUS INCIDENTS WHICH DMV WAS@CAUSE!THERE WAS A CHECKPOINT BY OUR HOME THIS PAST FRIDAY ON 3/04/2011.MY HUSBAND RECIEVED A RENEWAL BY MAIL LAST OCTOBER,OCTOBER 2010.NOT ONLY DID HE COMPLETE THE RENEWEL ON LINE AS SOON AS HE RECIEVED IT!HE WAS ALSO STAYING ON TOP OF IT!!!!JANUARY CAME & HE HAD NOT YET RECIEVED ANYTHING!!!WE WENT INTO THE DMV IN NORCO CA.NOT ONLY DID THEY NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE,THEY SIMPLY SENT HIM AWAY WITH A PHONE NO. & TOLD HIM HE HAD TO CALL ARIZONA. HE CALLED ARIZONA & HE WAS TOLD THAT HE NEEDED TO PAY A $10. RE-INSTATING FEE,WHICH HE DID SO RIGHT AWAY WITH A CREDIT CARD. THE FEMALE PERSONAL WHO ASSISTED HIM TOOK DOWN ALL HIS INFORMATION & TOLD HIM THATS ALL SHE NEEDED. LATER SHE CALLED & REQUESTED HIS INFORMATION AGAIN. APPARENTLY SHE MISTAKENDLY REVERSED TWO NUMBERS. SHE THEN HAD HIM WAIT ON THE LINE WHILE SHE PROCESSED THE INFORMATION,THEN SAID THAT EVERYTHING WAS COMPLETE & THAT HE SHOULD BE RECIEVING HIS LICENSE BY MAIL. HE TRIED GETTING A TEMPARARY LICENSE,BUT DMV WOULD NOT ISSUE HIM ONE! TIME PASSED & HE STILL HAS NOT RECIEVED ANYTHING!!! BY NOW…IT WAS THE MIDDLE OF FEBRUARY,HE CALLED ARIZONA,WHICH THEN..HAD HIM CALL SACRAMENTO,IN WHICH HE WAS TOLD THAT EVERYTHING WAS GOOD & AGAIN WAS TOLD THAT HE SHOULD BE RECEIVING HIS LICENSE IN THE MAIL. MY HUSBAND WAS EXPLAINING TO HIM(THE EMPLOYEE) HOW HE WAS ON AN EXPIRED LICENSE & WAS WORRIED!! THE EMPLOYEE THEN RE-USSURED HIM NOT TO WORRY THAT EVERYTHING WAS TAKEN CARE OF. MY HUSBAND THEN REQUESTED TO SPEAK TO HIS SUPERVISOR . HE WAS TOLD THAT THE SUPERVISOR WAS NOT IN,BUT THAT AS SOON AS THE SUPERVISOR RETURNED HE WOULD CALL MY HUSBAND!! MY HUSBAND TRIED GETTING THE MALE PERSONALS NAME ,BUT HE WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE THERE NAME,SO HE WAS GIVEN AN AGENT NO. SO… AS U CAN SEE,MY HUSBAND HAS STAYED ON TOP OF THIS THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH!!!!!!!! ON FRIDAY 3/04/2011 THERE WAS A CHECKPOINT NEAR OUR HOME.IN WHICH WE WERE NOT ONLY STOPPED&PULLED OVER,HE ALSO RECIEVED A CITATION & OUR CAR WAS THE TOWED AWAY DUE TO HIM DRIVING ON AN EXPIRED LICENSE!!!!! WE TRIED TO EXPLAIN IT TO THE OFFICER. ALTHOUGH THE OFFICER DID SAY THAT UNFORTUNETELY THIS HAS OCCURED OFTEN,THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD REALLY DO! BUT..HE DID TELL US TO REMEMBER THAT EVERYONE HAD A BOSS & THAT EVEN A BOSS HAD A BOSS !BECAUSE WE WERE CERTAIN THAT WE HAD DONE EVERYTHING RIGHT,THAT WHAT HAD HAPPEND COULD & SHOULD HAD BEEN CORRECTED BY DMV & SENSE DMV IS CLOSED ON THE WEEKEND,WE WAITED TIL MONDAY!! WHILE WE WERE WAITING I HIS WIFE MADE A FEW PHONE CALLS WHICH RE-ASSURED ME THAT THIS HAS INDEED HAPPEND BEFORE & DMV HAS ENDEED CORRECTED THERE MISTAKE! ON MONDAY WE RETURND TO THE NORCO DMV.AFTER WAITING 2 HOURS & 50 MINUTES,WE WERE GIVEN A NO. CLOSE TO HALF AN HOUR LATER HIS NO.WAS CALLED. HE EXPLAINED TO THE GENTLEMAN THAT HE HAD NOT YET RECIEVED HIS LICENSE.THE EMPLOYEE THEN HAD HIM TAKE A SEAT & TOLD HIM THEY WOULD CALL HIM UP BY NAME SHORTLY! THE SAME GENTLEMAN CALLED HIM UP & PRINTED HIM UP A TEMPORARY LISENCE. WE THEN EXPLAIND TO HIM OUR PROBLEM & ASKED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR! HE THEN DIRECTED US TO WINDOW9 & SAID THAT A SUPERVISOR WOULD COME SHORTLY. WE THEN EXPLAINED EVERYTHING TO THE SUPERVISOR & INFORMED HER THAT IN ORDER FOR US TO CORRECT THE ISSUE, ALL WE NEEDED IS SOME KIND OF DOCUMENT SHOWING THAT MY HUSBAND WAS INDEED LISCENSE AT THE TIME HE WAS PULLED OVER.ALTHOUGH SHE SEEMED TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WE WERE GOING THROUGH, DID NOT WANT TO GIVE US THE TIME OF DAY! SHE TOLD US THAT SHE HAD WORKED AT THE DMV FOR OVER 20YEARS & HAD NEVER WROTE OR PRINTED OUT ANY SUCH THING! SHE SAID JUST TO SHOW THE POLICE STATION THE PAPER WORK WE HAD JUST RECIEVED. SHE ALSO SENT US AWAY WITH A BUSSINESS CARD & TWO PHONE NUMBERS! WE WENT BACK TO THE POLICE STATION,DID EXACTLY WHAT SHE SAID,WHERE DENIED A CORRECTION & A FEE WAIVER.CALLED HER,EXPLAINED TO HER AGAIN THAT ALL WE NEEDED WAS SOME FORM OF DOCUMENT STATING THAT MY HUSBAND WAS INDEED LICENSED ON FRIDAY 3/04/2011. SHE AGAIN EXPLAINED HOW SHE DID THE BEST SHE COULD DO BY GIVING US THOSE TWO PHONE NUMBERS & THAT SHE COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE!!! I THEN ASK TO SPEAK TO HER SUPERVISOR, WHICH THEN SPOKE TO MY HUSBAND,WHICH ALTHOUGH SHE DID HEAR HIM OUT & SEEMED TO UNDERSTAND ALSO REFERED US TO THE SAME TWO PHONE NUMBERS. MY HUSBAND & I TRIED GETTING A HOLD OF SOMEONE AT THOSE SAME TWO NUMBERS WHICH BY THE WAY ARE 1-916-657-7790 &1-916-657-5771.WE TRIED FOR ALMOST TWO HOURS & COULD NOT GET IN COMMUNICATION WITH ANYONE!!HE THEN CALLED TO SPEAK THE THE SECOND SUPERVISOR AGAIN & TO TRY TO GET A HOLD OF A HIGHER SUPERVISOR!! HE WAS THEN TOLD THAT SENSE HE NEVER RETURNED TO THE DMV TO LET THEM KNOW THAT HE HAD CONTACTED ARIZONA,HIS LICENSE WAS PENDING & THAT THE ONLY REASON IT WAS NOW VALID,WAS BECAUSE HE AGAIN RETURN TO THE DMV.THAT ATHOUGH SHE REALIZED WHAT WAS GOING ON,THAT SHE COULD NOT DO ANYTHING!AFTER MY HUSBAND & HER GOING BACK & FORTH A BIT,SHE TOLD HIM TO GIVE HER A LITTLE TIME & SHE WOULD SEE WHAT SHE COULD DO & TOLD HIM THAT HER SUPERVISOR WAS AT LUNCH & SHE WOULD HAVE HER CALL HIM. ALMOST AN HOUR LATER WE HAD NOT HEARD FROM ANYONE,SO THE HE CALLED BACK. HE WAS THEN TOLD BY THE SECOND SUPERVISOR,THAT SHE WAS SORRY BUT THAT UNFORTUNETLY SHE COULD NOT DO ANYTHING FOR HIM & THAT HER SUPERVISOR WAS GONE FOR THE DAY!!! ALTOUGH IT IS OBVIOUS TO SEE WHO IS TO BLAME,WE FOUND OURSELFS HAVING TO PAY OVER $400.IN TOWING FEES, ARE TRYING NOT ONLY GET OUR MONEY BACK,BUT ARE ALSO TRYING TO GET THIS SITUATION RESOLVED BEFORE THE COURT DATE. OTHERWISE NOT ONLY DOES THE DMV GET AWAY WITH WRONGFUL DOING,BUT WE WE WILL ALSO END UP PAYING ANOTHER FEE WHICH WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO!!!!!!!! SO…BASICLY TO OUR UNDERSTANDING,MY HUSBAND GOT PENALIZED FOR BEING A GOOD DRIVER????

Mailed check for my driver’s license renewal 1-3-11. My license expired 2-28-11. Haven’t received anything yet. Info: {info edited/deleted from comment by administrator} No personal info here, for your own safety!
