Above is the concept art from Captain America that came out a few months ago, and below, concept becomes reality in these first look pics of Captain America: The First Avenger while they were filming out in the London countryside. Courtesy of the Daily Mail.co.uk. They’re at least some pretty nice pictures of the stunt double set up for filming.

This first look is the early era look of Captain America, in the pre-frozen era of his career & what I like about this pic is this is our first look at the shield when it’s not in a staged display anywhere!

I thought this was a pretty snazzy looking era car, if I do say so myself.  But if you look closely, am I hallucinating or is the driver’s head a tinge of red, as in maybe Red Skull red?

About Captain America: The First Avenger:

Captain America: The First Avenger stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Hugo Weaving as Johann Schmidt/The Red Skull, Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury, Tommy Lee Jones as Col. Chester Phillips and Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, the father of Tony Stark, aka, Iron Man.

After being deemed unfit for military service, Steve Rogers volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America, a superhero dedicated to defending America’s ideals.

It’s directed by Joe Johnston (The Wolfman, Hidalgo, Jurassic Park III, ) and is due out July 22nd, 2011.  (Right during Comic-Con!!!  Hmm.  Well, it will be a great way to spend my birthday, that’s for sure!)

The Daily Mail has a few more pics.  I didn’t think it polite to snag all their pics, so head on over and check out the rest of them!
