Customizing Your Facebook Updates Per List

Facebook

The other day it was driving me crazy to try and find an update from a specific friend of mine on Facebook, so I dug about and discovered that I can not only assign groups to each “friend” on Facebook, but I can also selectively look at each group on its own.

Now I have movie tweeps, family, peers, friends and such in different categories.  Then when I visit Facebook, I can select whose updates I’d like to look over!

Here’s how I did it:

I went to my FRIENDS section, showing all my Friends.

Selected ‘All Friends.’

Next to the Person I’m setting up is some text that says Add to List.

Clicking on that brings up a window that says ‘Create New List‘ or has your already established set of lists.

You can type in a list name, which automatically adds your friend to your list, or if you have established lists that you somehow didn’t know you had, you can click on the List name and that adds your friend to the list.

Now when you go to your home page, you might see your list in the upper left corner of your page… or click on More and you’ll see your lists.

Now click on a list and those are the only folks whose updates you will see.

Walah!  Facebook is now less confounding!

Now you know!
