This is the update on my earlier article talking about the ladies in the ARCA race.

Saturday’s ARCA event, the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 with 55 drivers attempting to qualify for the event.

James Buescher and Mikey Kile obtained the front row, with Buescher on the pole.

  • Nelson Piquet is starting 7th; FINISHED: 27th
  • Bobby Gerhart 8th; FINISHED: Race Winner
  • Danica Patrick 12th; FINISHED 6th
  • Ricky Carmichael 14th; FINISHED 7th
  • Alli Owens 19th; FINISHED 23rd
  • Leilani Munter 25th; FINISHED 39th [accident]
  • Jill George 38th; FINISHED 31st [accident]
  • Milka Duno 41st; 43rd [accident]
  • Jennifer Jo Cobb 42nd (Running a full NASCAR Truck Series season); FINISHED 17th

The other women contenders, Amber Cope in the Asset Protect Dodge & Jill George in the Radon.com Dodge did NOT make the field.

See the entire starting grid on the ARCA web site.

Check back here sometime after Saturday afternoon and I’ll have an updated finishing list for the ladies.

UPDATE: Most of the ladie didn’t fare that well but Danica gave us one heck of a good show and had herself a pwerful ride underneath her.  I hope she does drive in the NASCAR Nationwide Daytona race.
