The following are Cinema Static news bits on a Dean Koontz book being made into a mini-series, Howard Stern‘s new work schedule, the new role that Bryan Cranston has landed, an interesting opportunity with the BKGTH movie, and something about a new project from Quentin Tarantino.

Twilight Eyes
I bet Dean Koontz fans are pleased to hear that Starz Network is preparing a limited series based on his 1985 novel, “Twilight Eyes.”
The book is centered around Slim MacKenzie, who uses psychic powers to hunt Goblins. In this story, Goblins have the ability to mimic humans and hence, Slim’s need to use his ability to discover them.
The Starz Network version will be taking place in present-day and will be directed by Stephen Sommers. It’s in pre-production with Tim Robbins, William Dafoe and Anton Yelchin.
Tell me that doesn’t sound all together awesome, adding those actors to a Dean Koontz story?

Howard Stern’s Shorter Work Week
Grr, I’m jealous that someone can make millions and make themselves a shorter work week, but that’s what Howard Stern is doing… he is going to start taking every other Monday off starting today, May 2nd… which means that some weeks, he’ll only be on the air for three days instead of four.
So mark your calendars and keep track so you don’t get surprised when you crank up your Satellite radio and you start getting more classic Howard or Howard repeats.

Rock of Ages
Brian Cranston will be playing the Mayor of Los Angeles in the movie, Rock of Ages, a project about an 80′s rock club, being directed by Adam Shankman.
Rock of Ages will also be starring Diego Gonzalez Boneta, Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Mary J. Blige, Paul Giamatti, Julianne Hough and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Django Unchained
Quentin Tarantino‘s next movie will be a Western called Django Unchained, or more specifically, they’re calling it a spaghetti Western, that is a stylized and violent kind of movie.
Would there be any other kind of Tarantino film?
