Egads, here we go again.  Early news comes out of an interview with E! Online, about what Diane Lane (who plays Martha Kent in the new Superman project) said about her script review of Man of Steel, the new Superman movie.

Superman by Sean IzaakseShe said she was put away for three hours with the Man of Steel script and what she remembers is that it touches on the past, from infancy on.

“I was locked in a room with the script and was only allowed three hours with it. I nailed it into my memory. I’m really excited. I’m really not allowed to talk much about it, I think, but it does cover the entire range of years, from infancy on.”

First, it covers the entire range of years…  so we have a real story in there across the years…

Second, from infancy on…  could that mean some time on Krypton, then sometime in Smallville before moving on to be the man he is, Superman?

I’m hoping that it’s only a glimpse at his past because if we do get another origins piece (Which I don’t think is likely) then I’m out of here.  I’ve seen his origins so many times, well, I don’t need to see it again.  I’m sure they’ll cover this newest sound-byte and let us know that that really means.

And I’m also hoping that Zod is a bit more than what we’ve seen in the past movie also.  I’m sure it will be.  Then again, we’ve heard they were casting for Lex Luthor, so it sounds like a triage of criminals.  I understand where fans of the franchise are coming from.  I really do.

To be honest, it’s starting to sound like a Christopher Nolan production for sure, with Zack Snyder directing.  I can’t wait to hear more news about Man of Steel and we’ll try to make sure we cover it here for you!
