Most UFO/ Paranormal documentaries sell based on lost footage or new evidence. These days most DVD films are presented with a clean image, crisp sound and the ability to scan chapters. The Truth About The Philadelphia Experiment has none of those qualities. In fact this is one of the most horribly produced documentaries I’ve ever seen, at the same time it was one of the best.
The reason the footage contained in The Truth About The Philadelphia Experiment is so bad, is due in large part because the interview was recorded back in 1989 in what appears to be a poorly lit living room, with presumably a hand-held 8mm camera positioned on a tripod. The camera work is high school level at best, out of focus, horribly lit and muffled at worst. If you can get past the horrible production values and shoddy interviewing skills you’re in for tale that you won’t soon forget.
I’m assuming if your reading this you have a general knowledge of the Philadelphia Experiment from the 1984 John Carpenter directed film of the same name. Did you also know that this film was based on true events that took place back in 1941. The events depicted in the film were so true that the US Federal Government produced an injunction and pulled the film out of US theaters after only a 2 week release. It was then banned from broadcast for three years. Later around 1987 the film was shown mainly late night and on cable channels, of course now its available on DVD and found in the science fiction section. What was so dangerous that the Feds didn’t want the public to see. Was it possible the script accurately depicted real top secret events in the breakthrough of time travel?
In, The Truth About The Philadelphia Experiment you will hear first hand accounts by three of the men who were members of Project Rainbow. This was the Navy’s code name for the Philadelphia Experiment. They discuss at great length how Nikola Tesla was involved at first and who replaced him. They discuss what happened to the USS Eldridge during the 3 hours it vanished into thin air. They also discuss how alien technology is at the core of these experiments and how this has changed the world all the way up to stealth aircraft, time travel and beyond.
Midway through the documentary a chapter includes a slide show that provides some great photos of Fort Hero on Montauk Point taken roughly around 1988, a few years after the base was abandoned. The photos are creepy and provide even more evidence relating to the story. You’ll hear why the Project Montauk scientists left the base running and believe me its amazing stuff if true.
That’s the thing, if these accounts are true, then this poorly produced interview holds historical information that you won’t ever read about in the main stream media or in a classroom. For those that are educated in these areas, Al Bielek provides “additional information” that wasn’t covered in later interviews hosted by Art Bell, or George Noory.
Again if you can find this DVD documentary and are willing to put up with some really horrific audio and visuals, I think your going to find it fascinating and a great source of ever expanding knowledge on the subject. I was shocked several times while watching this based on events that have developed since 1989.
