Eli Roth On His Online Porn Job & Inglorious Basterds [Cinema Static]

by on December 10, 2009

in Entertainment, movies

For some we work at ice cream trucks, concession stands at Friday night football games, the local Honda dealership and other great avenues of income to get by in the world while going to school.

Eli Roth, who is setting himself apart with his film creations and roles, has apparently set himself apart again.

Apparently he paid his way through film school by being an online sex worker.

Yep, not a typo gang!

He worked for Penthouse to tease men under the guise of Tami.  That’s how Eli Roth paid for his student films.

He said that back in 1991, the only customers then were doctors and scientists because that’s who was on the internet those days.  And Penthouse hired guys because guys knew what guys wanted.  (Man, are any of you out there reflecting back and grimacing right about now?)

You could consider Tami Eli Roth’s first role, or even his first germinating seed of a movie.  No pun intended there.

Tami was a skanky girl who lived in the East Village of New York and was a heavy metal groupie who had a group “romp” session with Guns N’ Roses and Poison, all in the same night of festivities.  At least that was the tale that Eli concocted.

Tami was one of many names he went by!

Not too bad for a guy who grew up dreaming up ways to kill his friends.  LOL.

Did you know that he never really intended to mix it up with acting and directing?  It just happened?  That’s an interesting inside tidbit.

Here’s a tidbit on THE NEXT INGLORIOUS BASTERDS:

Yes, you read right… but hold on… Eli Roth said that Quentin Tarantino would only do another one if he could top this one… and then again, Tarantino already has about 100 pages of The Basterds PREVIOUS MISSION written up.

Eli said he and Brad Pitt are ready for another one!

IS that cool news or what?

Inglorious Basterds is coming to DVD on December 15th btw.
