Until the fix to the iFrame issue comes out in WordPress 2.9, there is a workaround in the mean time to getting any iFrame data to stick to your posts. Albeit, a bit of a PIA, but it works.
Real quick:
Whatever you do, don’t embed the iFrame data until you’re done writing. Make sure to leave a space for your embed, if it’s in the middle of your post. I like leaving words in place so the spot doesn’t get eliminated upon saving. And that may even apply to being at the end of a post.
Do all your previewing and post editing and save this draft. Make sure everything is as you want it.
Once you’re done’ writing and draft saving, head into the HTML view, replace that place-holder text with your iFrame text.
DON’T DO ANYTHING ELSE except hit publish and GET OUT. Exit, do nothing more.
Doing anything else seems to delete the iFrame text from your WordPress blog but publishing straight from the HTML window works for me.
In case you’re wondering why I’m not proposing a Plugin, I just like to try and keep my Plugin installations to a minimum. Makes for a cleaner install and with the fewer Plugins you have, the fewer items you have to try and decipher through if things go wrong in your database.
If you do love Plugin’s, the more popular iFrame inserting tool on the WordPress Plugins pages would seem to be EMBED IFRAME.
I judge “popular” by the # of downloads. Otherwise, I can’t say one way or another!
