This is one of those SoB WTF moments. Lauren Rosenberg is suing Google because while she was following Google Maps directions on foot, she found herself walking down the middle of a highway that had no sidewalks and ended up getting hit by a car.
She did this in Park City, Utah now and is suing Google for damages.
*** crickets ***
First, WTF? I don’t know about anyone else, but when I have a map in hand and I’m following directions on it, I actually look up the majority of the time. If it gives me a direction that raises a question of logic, I apply my logic and act accordingly.
But that’s just me.
And as far as Bruce Simmons is concerned, when I get directions from Google Maps, I don’t “walk down the middle of the road” when following directions. Yep.
This is a very befuddling item indeed and is a definite Darwin Candidate. [PCWorld]
