For the NASCAR SIRIUS Listener – A Blurb About the Sports Reports

I noticed this week while listening to my SIRIUS Satellite radio, channel 128 NASCAR channel that I started getting general sports recaps at the top of the hour.

My first perspective was not a very printable one, being as how sometimes I just don’t have that much time when I turn my SIRIUS Satellite on and I want to hear something of what they’re chatting about in the NASCAR world.

This morning on The Morning Drive, they addressed the issue to some degree and their explanation almost soothed my ruffled feathers.  Almost.

Basically the explanation said that the top of the hour recaps broadcasts across all sports channels on the system, and when applicable, NASCAR news is included in the recaps.  (Not sure when “applicable” is, but that’s cool.)

They went on to explain that this general sports recap helps drive new listeners to the different sports channels when they hear something that catches their attention.  Which, for NASCAR, is a good thing to always be bringing in new fans or at least listeners to the SIRIUS Satellite NASCAR channel.

Now how often that will benefit NASCAR as opposed to the plethora of news from other sports, I’m not sure, but it’s a start and though at first I wasn’t actually that happy listening to the updates from other sports, I thought what the heck.  Good enough for me.

Now ya know!
