‘Haven’ Starts Production For Season 3

Syfy is reporting that Haven will start up production for its third upcoming season on the Syfy channel, starting on April 18th, 2012, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Yes, apparently Halifax looks like Haven, ME.

The production will include filming for the new 13-episode upcoming third season.

Season three of Haven will be picking up pretty much right where they left off at the end of season 2, with Nathan (Lucas Bryant) being warned about having a romantic relationship with Audrey (Emily Rose); Duke (Eric Balfour) learning that his legacy is/was to kill those poor hapless Haven citizens with troubles; Audrey went missing on everyone while Nathan and Duke seem to be in their own, seemingly deadly argument.

According to the press release, Haven averaged just over 2.5 million viewers last season, which in key demographics, was just a tick or so higher than their first season.

, based on the novella The Colorado Kid from renowned author Stephen King, follows former FBI agent Audrey Parker, who becomes a cop in the small town of Haven, Maine, and soon discovers the towns many secrets, which also holds the key to unlocking the mysteries of her lost past.

From leading independent studio Entertainment One (eOne), Haven is co-commissioned by Shaw Media in Canada and globally via Universal Networks International (UNI).

The creative team behind Haven includes executive producers John Morayniss (The Firm, Hell on Wheels) from eOne Television and David MacLeod (Legends of the Fall, The Ray Bradbury Theater) of Big Motion Pictures, who are joined by Lloyd Segan, Shawn Piller, Scott Shepherd (Stephen Kings The Dead Zone, Greek) of Piller/Segan/Shepherd and Matt McGuinness (Journeyman, Dark Blue) as well as Sam Ernst & Jim Dunn (Stephen Kings The Dead Zone), who also developed the series.
