History Channel’s TV Series Ancient Aliens Is A Hoot

Ancient Aliens - S3The other day I was watching, strike that, a mini-marathon of History Channel‘s documentary series, Ancient Aliens was on in the background while I was doing some house cleaning.  I was amazed at how far the narrative stretched to connect just about everything that happens in our history to the intervention of aliens on our species.

This is Ancient Aliens third season on the History Channel… seriously.  This show is like crack, a train-wreck…  something you can’t not look at because of how far they go to connect dots that don’t exist.  Or maybe they do and I’m just not seeing the obvious circumstantial evidence that stares me in the face!

Honestly, this show was such an entertaining train wreck I couldn’t help but watch it.  It was suggested by a follower on Facebook that I tune into the Sylvester Stallone starring marathon of Rambo… but I didn’t think that was in my best interest, since I probably would not have gotten as much cleaning done if that was on!

While Ancient Aliens was on, between Vacuum and Rug Doctor sessions, here’s what I picked up in sound-bytes:

  • That aliens were holding a cosmic battle here in the skies of Earth (As if our tiny planet was prime battle territory);
  • They were starting to connect zombies and vampires to Ancient Aliens;
  • That natural disasters were caused by UFOs;
  • And here’s one that makes absolutely perfect sense:  Jesus Christ was an Ancient Alien.  How did I not see that?

Here’s how they present these premises to the viewer, so that if you were buying into these ideas, made them seem more legitimate…

First, they would present their premise, then talk to an accredited expert form a known college like USC, UCLA, etc., etc, about the factual aspects of the subject … then they would present their closing argument, presenting to the viewer the idea of how this could be alien related.

For those who grasp at straws hoping to see proof of something they want to believe in, this method seems rather ingenious!

With each new episode/subject, they pretty much followed this same outline.  Though, when they interview the pro-alien experts, I keep wondering how these folks can say some of the things they do and keep a straight face?  Well, the History Channel is next door to the Comedy Channel on my cable channel lineup. No wonder I’ve been watching so much HGTV!

Check out some of the episode titles & descriptions from the third season of Ancient Aliens:.  As you can see, they pull together different aspects of our historical existence and extrapolate from there.  And to be honest, though common sense says hogwash, you have to admit, there’s no disproving it.  is there?

Episode 1: Aliens and the Old West

Episode 2: Aliens and Monsters – Hindu scripture describes an enormous flying creature called a Garuda that shook the ground when it landed on Earth. Is it possible that this monster was actually a misinterpreted alien craft?

Episode 3: Aliens and Sacred Places – Are sacred places the product of man’s reverence for God–or the result of contact with ancient space travelers?

Episode 4: Aliens and Temples of Gold – A church in southern France is said to hold the key to alchemy – and a gateway to another part of the universe.

Episode 5: Aliens and Mysterious Rituals – Could today’s rituals, such as festivals, coronations and funerals, be based on early man’s attempts to emulate ancient alien visitors?

Episode 6: Aliens and Ancient Engineers – Might the tools and technology of ancient builders have come from distant galaxies?

Episode 7: Aliens, Plagues and Epidemics – Could some of our most crippling plagues and epidemics be traced to the darkest voids of space – or even extraterrestrial intervention? During the Black Death of the Middle Ages, people reported bronze flying ships emitting a strange mist.

Episode 8: Aliens and Lost Worlds – Could there be proof of ancient alien visitors hidden among the artifacts of civilizations that have long vanished? Strange carvings suggest the Mayan city of Copan was ruled by the descendants of otherworldly beings.

Episode 9: Aliens and Deadly Weapons – Throughout history, advances in technology have lead to the development of powerful weapons – each more deadly than the last. But were these lethal weapons the product of human innovation–or were they created with help from another, otherworldly source?

Episode 11: Aliens and the Founding Fathers – What is the meaning behind secret messages found throughout Washington, D.C.? Did America’s Founding Fathers know something about ancient aliens that the general public did not?

Episode 12: Aliens and Deadly Cults – Throughout history, people have claimed to have otherworldly knowledge, and have led followers to commit horrific acts of violence. Are they con men? Are they insane? Or might the voices in their heads really be of an extraterrestrial origin?

Episode 13: Aliens and the Secret Code – Were ancient man’s spectacular structures built by humans alone? Or do they bear evidence of being designed…and interconnected – by otherworldly visitors?

Episode 14: Aliens and the Undead.  Could there be extraterrestrial origins in earthly encounters with the undead?

Episode 15: Aliens Gods and Heroes

Episode 16: Aliens and the Creation of Man – Why are humans so different from every other species on Earth? Did we evolve from apes – or is our intelligence the result of contact with an otherworldly source?
