HOP movie posterHop, starring James Marsden, Russell Brand (voice), Hank Azaria (voice) & Hugh Laurie (Voice) is a movie about how the Easter Bunny’s son runs away, headed to Hollywood. At the same time, we follow a bit of a loser who can’t find a job, who crosses paths with the runaway bunny, EB (Brand).

I finally caught this semi-animated feature on HBO and I find that Hop is a cute movie for kids, but for the accompanying adults, you might want to figure out something else to do.

Hop is directed by Tim Hill, whose resume includes Alvin and the Chipmunks, Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties and the Spongebob Squarepants TV and movie franchise.

And somehow, despite past successes, Hop isn’t quite up to par for adult engagement of the imagination. It’s predictable with no real eye-catching twists. In fact most of the funnier parts from this film were added to the movie trailers.

I wouldn’t go out of your way to catch this movie, but if you have kids, this might be a fun flick for them.

The animated bunny in Hop is cute though, I have to give it that but I can’t disagree at all with the IMDb user rating of a 5/10.
