We told you last week about the Hulu hosted television series bracket competition. There were some surprises and some not so surprising winners and losers. Let’s look at this week’s competition…
In comedy, Community is trouncing Modern Family with 84% of the vote.
Workplace Comedies is a closer competition, and it’s too early to say how this will sway, but The Office has 53% of the votes over Parks and Recreation.
Not surprisingly, The Simpsons are trouncing Family Guy in the animation department with 67% of the votes.
Before I vote, I just am not sure who might be winning the Detective Drama between Bones and Castle, they both have their great points, but being a Joss Whedon / Firefly fan, I must stay faithful in the face of adversity… and Castle has 61% of the votes. Excellent.
Between medical dramas House M.D. and Royal Pains, I stayed faithful to House, and rightfully so. House M.D. has 82% of the votes. (BTW: Royal Pains is a great show)
Next up is the action category… Burn Notice vs Chuck. Dang. I love them both, but Burn Notice is more instructional, so with my vote in that direction, ooohh, I’m on the losing side of the vote today, with Chuck taking 67% of the votes.
For Sci-Fi we have Fringe facing Lost. I’d say Lost is on the fringe of logic and guesswork as the writers make up answers as they go… but with that said, can you guess which way I’m voting? WOW… this is too close to tell right now as Lost as 51% of the vote. This could go either way with almost 2 days to go and the weekend coming up.
The last vote is the newcomers category. Parenthood vs Caprica. Before I vote, I’m going way out there on that imaginary limb and thinking that Parenthood is winning this one. Let me go vote for Caprica, and I’ll let you know… Yep. Parenthood has 72% of the votes. Those are two funny genre’s to put up against each other, since the predictive nature of the Nielsen family system has long told me that most don’t get or like sci-fi versus scripted drama. Eh.
If All Goes As It Looks Like
If these competitions pan out, the brackets will see Community vs The Office. (Dudes, my prediction is The Office.)
The Simpsons will be up against Castle. Damn… I’d like to see Castle win that one, but I don’t know.
House M.D. will be facing Chuck. I think Chuck is going down hard next week.
Parenthood will go down up against either Fringe or Lost. I’m feeling pretty sure about that one and Parenthood will be out!

That’s what makes the drama category so stuff. I don’t watch either show, but as a Whedon fan do I vote for Angel on Bones or Captain Mal on Castle??
