Is NBC Eying 24?

Word on the street is that 20th Century Fox approached NBC about the idea of picking up 24 if FOX Television does indeed let the show go at the conclusion of this season.

It’s been noted that NBC has shown some interest in picking up 24.

I want you, our readers to look at this from a pragmatic perspective:  This is not a decision, it’s a consideration.  To be honest, I’ve shown some interest in looking at a Lamborghini.  Doesn’t mean I’ll buy one though.

Considering NBC needs something to try and compete with the stranglehold that CBS has on scripted drama primetime, it makes sense they’re looking at it.

But the real question is, would Comcast be interested in the franchise?  Seeing as how they’re moving into the NBC offices, IE: buying into the network.

I still say they should do their movie, then go with my fantasy suggestion and move forward with a 24 franchise comic book series!

Comic books don’t pay the bills like tv or film.
Taking the comic book road is a desperate attempt in keeping a franchise alive and is a death blow to tv shows. (Imo)

I wouldn’t mind if NBC carried the show. I just hope they give it the time of day. Unlike they did with Conan and My Name is Earl.

Or… comic books can continue to bring in some form of income to a franchise that would no longer see the light of “$$” when it ends. Some bucks are good bucks?

“24″ has more of an adult following, I highly doubt a 24 spin off comic book would be profitable.

The 24 web-episodes, trading cards and Xbox game didn’t generate profits. What makes you think a comic series would especially in this economy?
FOX will more then likely focus on a film, IMO. :)

Nbc will prob drop this after a few weeks. Well see.
