Apparently Patrick Stewart had a beef with Time Warner Cable TV last Thursday.
Stewart has moved into Brooklyn, NY and had signed up for his new cable TV service. But apparently he had some issues with the install process… mainly how it took over 36 hours to get some form of help.
So in frustration, he tweeted
All I wanted to do was set up a new account with @TWCable_NYC but 36hrs later I’ve lost the will to live.
Of course if you or I were to tweet to our random collective of followers, you just get the usual support amongst peers and move on in your frustration. Ah, but to be a star has another power all together different.
Stewart’s tweet was retweeted by fans, and then found its way onto Reddit and it went even more nuts from here.
And now, various web outlets (ahem!) are having a bit of fun with it too.
When Time Warner finally saw the noise, they asked how they could help out the situation, but Stewart made a rather poignant reply, noting that
“If that question had been asked at any time in the last 36hrs it would have been of value,”
Of course TW has jumped into the fray of the apologetic public service organization, but from what I can glean from some sources, the company might have a huge public image issue as it is.
Oh to be famous, though I must admit, that didn’t seem to help out Stewart at the front of this debacle!
