James Cameron’s Avatar is coming to 2D DVD and Blu-ray on April 22nd.
In Avatar’s trek to destroy all financial records set by any movie ever, Avatar will be in our homes pretty soon, and that’s good for those who didn’t go fight the masses to sit in a theater.
As of now, Avatar has sold over $2 billion in box office loot since it came out on December 18th.
I’m glad it’s coming out in late April. I was sort wondering in the back of my head if they were going to keep us waiting or not, but I suspect to keep the funds coming in to add to that shattering world record pace of outselling everyone, this is a logical step.
If you’re wondering if there will ever be a 3D home version of Avatar, they say it’s coming out sometime next year. I’m betting that migh be a harder sell until 3D home entertainment equipment starts to play catch up!
