The Bachelor Wedding of Jason and Molly was pretty much like any other wedding I’ve ever been to, except for the fact that maybe ABC camera crews and paparazzi were more prevalent at this event.
There was a lot of rehashing in the beginning by ABC. We watched Jason blow off Melissa … again in that “After the After the Final Rose that wasn’t the Final Rose episode.” They also touched on how hard it was for the two of them after the show and how the gossip rags trashed on them, as did a lot of people.
We then were “treated” to a recap of their success stories from past “contestant for marry” Bachelor series. This included Jake & Vienna, then Jillian & Ed, Charlie & Sarah, Trista & Ryan.
We then saw bits of their bachelor and bachlorette parties… in Las Vegas. But that seems an oxymoron with ABC in Las Vegas? Eh. On to the wedding.
The wedding seemed filled with past contestants from past seasons… and again, we got to talk to the past success stories.
The ceremony was officiated my Molly’s Uncle. Her father walked her down the aisle, then the lightning struck… just fooling. I couldn’t help myself. The ceremony began, it really was just another wedding.
The big star of this wedding though, was the pounding rain. As they got to their custom vows, the rain let loose on them and they got soaked good. Not sure why no one at ABC had umbrellas or what not for the happy couple. None the less, what was cool was they weren’t phased by the rain, as the water was rolling off the happy couple… nothing was distracting them from each other.
The blunders that stuck out for me were Jason’s ex not allowing him to have his son seen on television. Divorced people can be pretty freaky. (Trust me on that one.)
But what would The Bachelor be without potential drama? There really wasn’t any, but the hokiest drama build up I think I’ve ever seen was when the officiator asked if anyone has any reason these two should not wed, and believe it or not, ABC panned the crowd with a few angst-shots, as if there might have been someone. Gimme a break!
I was also getting tired of hearing every 5 minutes how they were so much in love. First from them, then from family, then from guests. I GOT IT ALREADY!
Near the end of the ceremony, they released white doves into the air, and I was wondering if any of them made it back to a roost or if the local eagles had fresh dinner that night.
So they’re now official, and they do look like they’re perfect for each other really.
The funny part was a preview for the Jimmy Kimmel Live show where Jason was going to guest on. Jimmy asked him (paraphrased) “is this the one? Or will there be another episode tomorrow night?”
Any how, that’s that.
