Jennifer Morrison plays Cameron on House M.D.
Jennifer Morrison said she’s puzzled about Cameron’s exit from House M.D. and she found the whole situation confusing.
As we noted in our previous note about Morrison Leaving House, was was written out and did not quit. But her contract is still being honored and she’s being paid for the entirety of the season. Morrison doesn’t even know why that is either.
Her exit also left it in such a way that she could return (IE: Not killed off).
Cameron leaving House M.D., was to me, removing an interesting component from the mix of characters on House. Though it’s not a show stopper, there will be a void of sorts with Cameron out of the picture.
But one thing is for certain – Jennifer Morrison is grateful for the support her fans are showing her.
A Cinema Static Perspective:
Cameron’s final scene in the show was touching, but it seemed less emotional than I expected. It was like watching something sad and not really have the moment yank too hard on the heart strings.
So from everything I’ve seen and heard, she was written out and according to her, no one seems to have explained it sofficiently as to why. At least that’s what she’s saying though I have a hard time imagining firing someone (so to speak) and not fully explaining it.
Jennifer Morrison being paid for the entire season could hint at a few things:
Is the studio honoring her full contract to avoid a lawsuit?
Could they be trying to avoid a complete backlash from fans?
Or are they’re keeping Morrison on a contractual tether, feeling out how the fan backlash might go and hence, would be able to pull her back in if fans got a bit too upset about this cast change.
At least Morrison is playing this hand close to her chest and not venting about this scenario. Politically speaking, that makes her a more viable candidate for returning to House, if the cars warrant it.
