Jericho fans are always keeping an eye out for news of a possible movie coming our way. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but not yet folks. During a chat with FEARnet, Jon Turteltaub said the following about a Jericho movie*:
- A graphic novel has been released
- Working with CBS Films on a film version
- A script is being written.
-
The graphic novel is called Jericho Season 3: Civil War. Three issues have come out to date. Jericho #1 hit the newsstands back on the 25th of November, 2009. The latest in March of 2010.
I am not sure what Turteltaub actually means by working with CBS films. It could be that he’s sent an email or letter outlining his or your hopes for a film.
But does he even have time? He has been a bit busy with his work on the wonderful TV series Harper’s Island, having directed The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, he’s directing National Treasure 3 and producing The Princess and the Pauper. Plus he has a Greenpeace movie project in the works.
On top of that schedule, I’ve been hearing that a Jericho script is being written for a very long time now and for me and that update is getting old. I’d love to see that the script is done and being revised or being reviewed. I cracked a rib when he also mentioned that we would see the same actors return to the project, if they’re not 60 by the time they had this film made. I think Turteltaub was sending a supportive, yet subtle clue about the actual project’s status while keeping it positive.

I think for now, we need to settle for a comic book of Jericho. At least it’s being brought to us by some of the same folk who helped write the show.

*This info IS old info from April of 2010. I’m going through some older stashed links that I’ve meant to write up but they became consumed with more pressing news or items.

I WANT JERICHO BACK ON TV AS A SERIES AND AS MOVIE I DONT READ ANYTHING NOT EVEN COMICS SO ANYTHING LESS THAN TV AND MOVIE WILL NOT DO
I hear ya Justin. Many people feel the same way.
I understand your feeling but a comic is a way back for the show or a movie therefore I support it, besides the story line is moving along very nicely, it’s like you can picture it all in your mind.
I want the show back if that happens there would be no need for a movie.
If you want Jericho back on TV, then buy the graphic novel. The sales are being watched by the studio.
The graphic novel is available on Amazon: http://www.savingjericho.comn/s3/
