Joss Whedon Directing The Avengers Movie

Despite the fact that Joss Whedon is no longer involved in the idea of a movie based on Wonder Woman, or that a Wonder Woman movie will ever be made, had asked Whedon who his choice would be for the role and he said Angelina Jolie.

Reminder: No one is a contender for any Wonder Woman movie from Joss Whedon. There’s not even been a mention of a movie being made. This is one of those “what if” pieces getting tossed around*

Angelina Jolie in 2010's Salt

Five years ago Joss Whedon was creating his spec script for a movie and in his mind’s eye, Angelina Jolie was the perfect lady for the role. So much so that he modeled the character around her image.

Though I never gave it a ton of thought who could play the Amazonian princess, the moment I read those words, I could instantly see that smooth, suave demeanor of Angelina Jolie’s playing the character. And being no stranger to action films cemented the image in my mind even farther.

Angelina Jolie in 2005 's Mr and Mrs Smith

Not to mention, as most guys would agree, any excuse to see Angelina in some sort of wonderfully fitting superhero costume could brighten the prospects of wanting to go see the movie.

And seriously, who cares how old she is today. I think she can still rock it with the best of them!

I’m just sayin’! (PS: Mr. and Mrs. Smith is one of my favorite “fun” movies of hers!)

*Disclaimer: If you know me, you know I despise web traffic capturing articles that talks about something that won’t ever happen and yet conjecture pieces are all the rage. It’s like a fantasy world where the person we think is best suited for a role is fantasized about in word and thought.

And yet, sometimes, it is a fun thing to ponder. I just never rarely ever go with it. Sure, some lame-duck quips make the rounds when an actor says they’d like to play a certain role. It’s great PR to be honest that livens up the fans of both the actor and whatever franchise is being focused on.

For the record, this would be the second time in eight months I’ve fallen victim / prey to the “what if” realm of site posts! Some of these can be fun to conjecture about and build.
