Joss Whedon: Is He Headed to FX Cable?

When people have lunch, they have lunch.  It’s not something that might tilt the world on its axis… in most cases.

Then again, the last time the media reported Joss Whedon and lunch, it was with Eliza Dushku, we ended up with the insidious plots of Dollhouse.

Joss Whedon (Firefly, Dollhouse, Buffy)

HitFix is reporting that FX network president John Landgraf is going to be meeting with Joss Whedon for lunch.

Landgraf has much respect for Whedon since his fave man, Shawn Ryan (The Shield) learned his craft from Whedon on the fantasy TV series Angel.

Any how, according to Landgraf, he said that Whedon’s people called his people to arrange a lunch so that they’ll be having in the next few weeks from now.

FX is Fox so Joss doesn’t seem to be straying far from the fold here, except to possibly be traveling to the realms of cable.

Could that be a driving force for this meet?  Some shows do well enough on cable in their niches that possibly this could be a haven for Joss’s mind, or the things that come from his mind.

Is it possible they’re thinking about Dollhouse on FX?  Dare I have already said it, but I can’t imagine that.  Joss has said in the past that he’s working on something new and had “Irons that are in the fire and when it’s time to pull one out … I will.

Maybe this is one of those irons?

To be realistic, Landgraf did say they’re pretty full up with dramas right now and and will probably only add one more right now.

But then again a lunch meet won’t convert into a show until a year later.  Maybe they’ll have room then.

I’ll let you know in a few weeks if any news comes of this!

In the meantime, the super cool finale of Dollhouse is headed at us on January 29th on Fox.
