Joss Whedon director of 'The Avengers' moviesThe space western from Joss Whedon, Firefly, seems to be on sale this month in both DVD and Blu-ray formats on Amazon.  It’s not a huge sale, but a sale is a sale!

Firefly was that ill-fated series that aired on Fox, but for some “creative” reason, Fox reordered all the episodes so things seemed rather confusing to the TV viewing fan and what promised to be a fantastic series, faded in ratings after a single season.  (And no one ever lets the entity of Fox TV ever forget that.  But then again, on a smaller scale, they did the same thing to Joss’s Dollhouse!  But that show, it might not have really mattered.)

But now that everyone’s eyes are on Whedon, I can see various outlets taking advantage of his popularity.

Many many fans love Firefly.  I in turn, absolutely love the franchise ending movie from the show, Serenity.  Either project shows off how well Whedon manages ensemble casts, though in a TV series, he spreads the wealth of attention on characters around in more episodes.  In a movie, knowing he only has two hours, he still manages this focus so eloquently that it’s silly good.

Be it as it may, you can nab Firefly on either DVD or Blu-ray….  here’s how the special features look like (and tell me which you think might be the better deal!!!)
