Ah, what a wonderful day, Friday is. It welcomes the fresh, unstructured entity known as the weekend where we can stay up late, sleep in or do whatever we so desire. It’s the best time of the week to tackle those things we just don’t have time for during the week.
For me, I like to start my weekend on a Friday morning.
I walk to work Fridays. At 5 am, the day is pristine and fresh. The air is still. The quiet – refreshing.
So my day started.
That is
- Until the street sweeper came by to sweep every street I crossed.
- And the city gardners were getting their clean up time in early with their leaf blowers.
- And my timing was perfect for being there as the CalTrain came rumbling by.
So I took the disruption to my morning tranquilty in stride… sort of. Once my blood pressure resumed its mellow pace, I continued about my day.
That is until I found some problems with my websites that I had to fix. So what if I couldn’t do what I was looking to do. I fixed a problem that I didn’t know existed. All the while, fixing a problem I needed to fix with my Twitter badge on another site.
So now, though I am at work, I’m late for work. That’s OK, it’s Friday.
That is of course, until I discovered that the center stall in the mens room locks just fine with the slide deadbolt, but once locked, seems to not unlock.
Fortunately, I already checked in, so I wasn’t later to work than I already was.
With lots to do, I found myself in meetings galore… getting some done, but not everything I needed done.
Sigh, it’s Friday. At least Monday is coming soon.
