Latest ‘Super 8′ Movie Trailer & Some Extra Neat Virals

in Entertainment, movies

Today I’m yacking first about a new movie trailer, then after the trailer, if you didn’t know about them, I touch on the viral developments that I chatted about back in May of 2010.  Read on and have fun!

The latest movie teaser trailer is out for Super 8 and we get to see a lot more of that surrounding story and characters than in previously released trailers.

But with the inclusion of a pack of young cinematographers involved in the Super 8 story line, and J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg behind the project, I humorously start to wonder if this isn’t what happened to E.T., … on gamma radiation…  ET Hulk smash!!!  And even though it’s been thoroughly denied that it’s connected to Cloverfield, would it not be awesome if this was secretly the prequel?  I know it’s not, but one can have fun, can’t they?

Super 8 Plot:

“In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.”

Super 8 comes out June 10, 2011.

Super 8 Viral Extras:

Check out this new ‘secret’ page on the movie website:  www.super8-movie.com/editingroom

If anything, J.J. Abrams had a blast with all the viral support of Cloverfield and in the process, learned a thing or two about the fun that viral support can do for a project.  With that said…

Then there’s www.scariestthingieversaw.com, where the site acts like an older computer system and interacting with the site reveals different things, if you know what to do.  You can treat the web page just like a computer… if you know how to operate a command line unix interface!  LOL.  Super8News has all the clues and such about the site and what you can do with the site.

I never got into the viral sites and efforts supporting the movie, but they looked like a ton of fun, if I had the time.  This site:  super8news.com , is a total blast.  They’ve followed every single viral clue and bit there is.  They also have posts that will help you navigate The Scariest Thing I Ever Saw website that I noted above.

There were just so many things going on and I didn’t really know how to report the different developments without stealing Super8New‘s thunder, so I left it alone mostly, but I did do a bit back in May of 2010 on the Super 8 movie viral.  With the advent of the trailer and new info, I wholeheartedly recommend checking out the different viral site stuff.
