Matt Reeves To Direct Another Vampire Movie, ‘The Passage’

Fox 2000 has tapped Matt Reeves to direct a new vampire movie called The Passage.

The Passage is based on a John Cronin book that chronicles an experiment where terminally ill cancer patients are subjected to bat bites, which seems to help.  The govt takes it a step further and starts experimenting but that effort goes awry and we end up with vampires, who through the mishap, get unleashed on the world threatening extinction to humanity.

With Matt Reeves previous recent directorial efforts from Let Me In and Cloverfield, I think he has the right mind’s-eye to make this a great little project.

With the style of how he approached dealing with the monster in Cloverfield, to the “human” sadness or tragedy of the character in Let Me In, this might yet be a fresh approach to the much-maligned vampire species.  I know some of you may have been vampired-out over the last year or two or so, but this could be a great popcorn vampire flick.

Now, we just wait and see who starts landing roles for The Passage.
