Wednesday evening, the Summer Concert Series kicked off in Fremont Park in Menlo Park. But also what took place was the Annual Downtown Menlo Park Block Party, and what a party it was.
This was probably the busiest I’ve ever seen the block party and that tells me that this 5th annual event was quite the hit. The weather cooperated and the temperatures dropped from scorching to amicable and the party was on. Folks by themselves, with friends, pushing the baby stroller or walking their dogs were all in attendance.
The dogs made out as they acted like living street sweepers licking up every bit of popcorn and other delectable that they could find with their highly attuned sniffers. Restaurants on Santa Cruz had set up outdoor dining where the people could enjoy a good dinner and the great community atmosphere.
There were big inflated bouncy kid play houses in a few locations, product demonstrations, give-aways and several awesome bands lighting up the air with good music.
If they’re not careful, they might have to spread out to the neighboring streets. This event was huge and fun! I’ve been to the last 4 Menlo Park Block Parties. This was the best attended one I’ve seen so far! Can’t wait for the next one!
