tv newsFor fans of the Syfy aired UK series, Merlin, sad times are ahead. The series has been cancelled and the upcoming fifth season will be its last season.

Merlin is a fantasy drama about the wizard Merlin (played by Colin Morgan) in his younger days and a young King Arthur (Bradley James).

Merlin returns to Syfy on January 4th for it’s final run. But on the bright side, they know the end is nigh and can prepare a great finish to the series.

When I first saw Merlin, I wasn’t so sure it would last, but then I started watching it. And I found it sucking me into the ever slowly developing story. And the last few seasons were building up nicely towards the myth we all know and love.

In fact, I have to wonder if they didn’t know this was coming because season four definitely was a great precursor to what is now the final fifth season. Eh, I can’t wait to see what they do with the series and how they close it out.

I mean, well, it’s obvious where it’s headed, but where they choose to leave their story end, that’s what will be interesting.

Then again, someone might come along and save the series.  Right Syfy?  Nudge, nudge.

I don’t want the series to finish. I fell in love with this story and agree, it’ll be interesting to see how the producers finish it off. Syfy! C’mon.
