Michael Rosenbaum had recently hinted at a new project he was working on from his Twitter account, and I’m guessing this new half-hour comedy called Saved By Zeroes for Syfy was what he was talking about.

Saved By Zeroes is a creation from the mind of Michael Rosenbaum and will star himself & Jonathon Silverman and is based on Michael’s personal life experiences.

It’s about 2 friends who are former actors from a sci fi show that developed a very strong cult following.  The 2 of them hit hard times and work hard as a team to get their lives back on track.

Huh.  Yep, it’s somewhat based on Rosenbaum’s time on Smallville, according to Syfy sr vp Andrew Plotkin.  Plotkin also relates, having been an exec at WB TV and being involved in Smallville’s development.

Is it my imagination or is there something in the background of the Smallville production that seems to have stirred up some interesting scenarios?  There’s always background crap to anything one works on or entity a person works with.  Sometimes those scenarios generate a deed or action that otherwise would never have happened.  (Trust me on that one!)

Rosenbaum describes Saved by Zeroes as Galaxy Quest meets Eastbound & Down.  Also of note, Rosenbaum is attached to a yet unnamed horror movie that’s in development.

Clark Kent (Tom Welling) and Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) on Smallville

Everyone has been focused on when Michael Rosenbaum will return to the CW to play Lex Luthor in Smallville.  All along, Michael has said he’s done with Smallville.  Which bums out fans because he delivered Lex in a fantastic method that captured everyone’s imaginations.

Eh, Michael has moved on it seems…
