This is probably going to rub a few folk the wrong way, but it looks like Michigan International Speedway is going smoke-free in various sections of the track.
The smokers ban will be for the seating, mezzanines, concession and restrooms, plus they’ve gone to include the suites and chalets.
It’s not all on the speedway’s head though. The state of Michigan has a smoking ban aimed at public locations taking effect on May 1st.
Smoking will be allowed in what they call the open-air sections that are behind the grandstands and it would seem that they’re providing various methods to enforce the new state ban.
As a non-smoker, I’ve never been a fan of getting smoked out but I’m betting this just bites for those of you who partake.
Aside from scoping out the areas where smoking is allowed, I’d stock up on alternate sources of nicotine just to be on the safe side!
