The Hangover Part II promo art Movie Review

I finally caught The Hangover Part II on VoD.

This is a movie review of The Hangover Part II and I bet you’re wondering if it’s worth dropping your money on either a rental or a purchase of a DVD? Come on by and find out…

In The Hangover Part II, the old gang of actors reprise their ill-fated roles in yet another drunken spin of bad decisions that complicate an evening after everyone, yet again, gets so wasted that they don’t remember a damn thing in the morning.

Producer/Writer/Director Todd Phillips yet again bring the wolfpack back to life. Todd produced and directed the first drunken spin in Las Vegas and his other projects include Due Date and Starsky & Hutch.

The Hangover Part II - Bradley Cooper (We did it again!)

Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong and Mike Tyson return to their roles, though don’t look for Tyson until the last few scenes.

This time around in The Hangover Part II, (two years after the Las Vegas debacle), Stu is getting married in Thailand, and the boys head down to the beach to have “one” beer to celebrate the event.

I mean, one beer, how back can things go?

They wake up the next morning in Bangkok, with a monkey in tow and one of them missing. And it goes from there.

Yes, it was more or less the same routine with the boys getting in trouble because people are missing, criminals are looking for them and they let Alan join in on the fun again.

As much as I was expecting the same material, the story had enough of a set of twists and different settings to keep it a notch ahead of the first movie.

Movie Review Popcorn Score 08If you loved the first one, you’ll like this sequel. If I were to toss a movie review score at The Hangover Part II, I think I’d give it popcorn 8. It wasn’t totally fresh, it wasn’t a total rib-splitter like the first one, but it was entertaining enough to enjoy this trip yet one more time. It’s easily a rental and if you like the cast, I’m sure you would probably enjoy the Blu-ray or DVD of this comedic mis-adventure.

And yes… the classic closer for The Hangover Part II returns, as the boys check out some pictures from the night they can’t remember…
