Movies: Singer in Pre-Production of Battlestar Galactica

Way back when, it’s been said that Glen A. Larson took up Battlestar Galactica to take advantage of (cash in) the success and interest of Star Wars.

Now that we had 4 phenomenal seasons of Ronald D. Moore’s Battlestar Galactica, it seems that Larson is back to his old ways of cashing in.

It’s been reported that Glen A. Larson wasn’t happy with Moore’s version and is redoing Galactica, the way he wants to see it done.  (Code for cashing in on momentum?) Bryan Singer of X-Men fame has been hired by Larson to put this new version of Galactica.

It’s been reported that Singer is now in the pre-production phase of the project.

Like I’ve said previously, bringing out another version of Galactica so close to Moore’s is confusing.  Confusing to the fans.  I think it’s a mistake and if they’re not careful, the project may tank financially.

Yes, I was a fan of the original…  when it was out.  Now I’ve been fully converted to Moore’s version.  I’m not a fan of this premise that Larson is doing.  Only because it’s too soon I think.  Especially since Moore’s prequel TV series Caprica is coming to SyfyThe Caprica pilot was awesome!  And a few more movies to boot.

I may not also be a fan of what seems to be again, Larson eyeballing the cash-in potential.  But that’s just my take on the situation.  I could be wrong.
